Historical Note

In 1996, the Metropolitan Group, a communications agency based in Portland, Oregon, worked with the Portland Development Commission to solicit submissions from Portland residents about their memories of Union Station, the city's train station. These reminiscences were compiled for display during the station's centennial celebration, which was held from May 10 to May 12, 1996.

Content Description

The collection consists of short reminiscences about Union Station, the train station in Portland, Oregon. These reminiscences were solicited for the celebration of the station's centennial. Some were handwritten on mail-in forms produced by the Metropolitan Group. A few have attached clippings or brochures. The collection also has some examples of stationery that the Metropolitan Group produced for the station's centennial.
