Summary
Author was born in Indiana and came to Oregon with his parents in 1853. The family lived in Eugene City, and Kincaid attended Columbia College, 1859-1860, a classmate of Joaquin Miller. He worked on several Eugene newspapers, and founded the Oregon State Journal (Eugene) in 1864. He was Oregon Secretary of State, 1895-1899. Published portions of his reminiscences appear in the Oregon Historical Quarterly, June 1916.
