This reel is a compilation of six short films, ca. 1929-1930 of climbs to Whitehorse, Chair Peak, Red Mt., Mt. Index, Circle Tour, Guye Peak. It illustrates early, informal Mountaineer climbing techniques, before the club's climbing course modernized them.

Climbing Whitehorse Mountain: May 11, 1930 climb on the Whitehorse Glacier, with panoramic views from the glacier and summit. They view Three Fingers from Lone Tree Pass. They reach the summit of Whitehorse Mountain, and glissade down. .

Climbing Mt. Index: A group hikes to the top of Mt. Index and around Lake Serene.

Chair Peak Rock Climb and Circle Tour Around Chair Peak: A group rock climbs to Chair Peak, with views from the east basin. Paul Shorrock leads a party toward Snow Lake. Scenes of Snow Lake, Chair Peak Lake, a small pond, possibly upper Melakwa Lake, closeups of people scrambling and summit views of Kaleetan Peak and Mt Rainier from Mt Roosevelt

Guye Peak: June 16, 1929 climb. Summit views and group shots. A hand line is employed to descend from the summit block.

Climb of Red Mountain: Four skiers including Lloyd Anderson ascend Commonwealth Basin then scramble to the summit of Red Mountain on foot.

The film was made by Burge Bickford and Lyman Boyer. It features Jim Crooks leading Fred Beckey on a rock climbing ascent of the southeast face of The Tooth, near Snoqualmie Pass, Washington. At the summit, the climbers find a brass tube with a Mountaineers register book inside.

Illustrates Cascade Mountains climbing just before World War II. The leader never places any protection such as pitons or slings. The film focuses on the climbers' hand and foot work intermixed with mountain views.

A party of four begin climbing Mt. Cruiser's first pitch, which ascends the left side of the Southeast Face. They reach a belay on the crest of the South Corner and climb along the South Corner to the summit .

This instructional film shows Fred Beckey and other climbers in the Tumwater Canyon at the Wenatchee River, with closeups of their techniques and equipment. Locations include Midway Chimney, the South Face of Jello Tower, and Castle Rock.

An unfinished film of an expedition via float plane and by foot to Pinnacle peak in the Yukon Territory, Canada. Expedition members include Bob Solibakke, Al Randall, Ome Daiber, Frank Bannon, Norm Benton, Arne Bloomer, Bob Boohor, Ed Boulton, Pat Chamay, Chuck Crenshaw, Chuck De Hart, Dave McBrayer, Frances Randall, Bob Solibakke, Mitch (should be Marie) Working and Bill Zauche.

Expedition members leave Seattle to fly to Juneau, Alaska, where they fly to Haines, Alaska, then travel by bus over White Pass to Kluane Lake in the Yukon Territory. From Kluane Lake, they fly through the Saint Elias Mountains and land on the Kaskawulsh Glacier. The team skis across the glacier to establish base camp near Pinnacle Peak. Members Boulton, McBrayer, Booher, Bloomer, Randall and Daiber climb to the summit. The expedition establishes a landing strip on the glaciers. Aerial views of the mountains, as members of the expedition fly back to Kluane Lake. The group makes a stop in Whitehorse and rides a train to Haines. Aerial views from the flight to Juneau.

Men and women in the forest undertake a variety of chores, including chopping wood, clearing brush and taking a meal break.

Members ride a boat through Puget Sound and disembark on the Kitsap Peninsula, possibly at Chico. They walk through wild rhododendrons, eat a picnic lunch at the Kitsap Cabin, play games, and walk through an orchard, possibly at Hidden Valley.

Promotes The Mountaineers: their love of the outdoors, friendliness, history, activities, and the upcoming Annual Outing on Mount Rainier. Scenes of their various activities such as climbing, skiing and ski competitions, hiking, outdoor sports and dramatics.

The Kalakala ferry on Puget Sound. People unload from a bus at the Forest Theater, have a picnic near the Kitsap Cabin and walk down the trail into the theater. Views of the audience as seen from the front of the stage area, and of wild rhododendrons in bloom.

A Mountaineers trip on the yacht Cadrew to the San Juan Islands and shores of Vancouver Island. The yacht sails through the Chittenden Locks in Ballard and north through Puget Sound, through the San Juan Islands and along the shore of Vancouver Island, on the shores of Bowman Bay, through Deception Pass with views of the Deception Pass Bridge, and returns to Ballard.
