Historical Note

The American Association of University Women was founded in 1881 and is a non-profit organization revolving around the advancement of women. The Boise Area Branch was formed in 1909 and was originally called College Women's Club. Jane Hoover served as the first president and they sent their first delegate to the national convention in Denver in 1910. The branch remains actively involved in public policy work and maintains a presence at the Statehouse during the Idaho legislative sessions.

The collection includes conference materials, Outlook magazine, AAUW publications, legislative reports, Boise Branch directories and more organizational records. Includes two USB drives of digital materials.
