Historical Note

Theodore I. Lenn (1914-2014) was a professor of sociology at Central Connecticut State University. He received his Ph.D. from New York University. He was a post-doctoral fellow in social gerontology with the U.S. Health Service and a consultant to the U.S. Office of Aging in the Kennedy administration. He authored Rabbi and Synagogue in Reform Judaism, which became known as The Lenn Report and was published in 1972. Lenn was interested in the work of revisionist historian Harry Elmer Barnes due to Barnes’ role as a historian of the social sciences.
