Historical Note

The Department of Romance Languages and Literature consists of two divisions: French and Italian Studies and Spanish and Portuguese Studies. The divisions offer programs designed to develop competence in the reading, speaking, and writing of the languages and in the study of the literatures and cultures. Both divisions offer undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as minors in Italian and Spanish.
