Biographical Note

Yakima County, Washington, Superior Court lawyer. Snively was a Democratic candidate for governor in 1892.

Content Description

Correspondence, case files, court papers, legal documents.

Most of the cases relate to water (irrigation) and land rights in Yakima County, including many legal papers related to the Yakima Indian Reservation. Three Semple letters, 1887-1888, pertain to importation of 100 Afro-Americans to be used as strikebreakers in the Roslyn coal mines.
