Historical Note
Hope R. “Bud” Morgan was appointed and served as North Dakota State Game and Fish Commissioner between 1948 and 1957. By trade, Morgan was an environmentalist and conservationist who wrote many papers and gave a multitude of speeches on environmental topics at various conferences and symposiums. The H. R. Morgan State Nature Reserve near Lisbon, North Dakota was named for him.

Collection contains Morgan’s annotated speeches, conservation reports, professional correspondence, North Dakota environmental bulletins, newspaper clippings, newsletters, notebooks, Game and Fish Commissioner appointment certificates, reports for a Max C. Fleischmann grant, unidentified photographs, and bumper stickers.
