Historical Note

Frank H. Peacock (January 24, 1944 - December 1, 2021) was an American dentist and railroad enthusiast. He graduated from Baylor Dental School and became a captain in the United States Army at Fort Fitzsimmons, Colorado. After his time with the Army, Peacock was hired to practice orthodontics in Saudi Arabia, where he was the Head of Orthodontics at the King Fahd Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. When Peacock returned to the United States he pursued his interests in the American railroad system. He would walk along the Union Pacific railroad tracks photographing the trains and stations that he encountered. Peacock’s train drawings, research, and knowledge of Union Pacific operating equipment allowed him to quickly become well known among model railroad enthusiasts. Union Pacific granted Peacock a pass that allowed him admittance into any Union Pacific facility. Frank Peacock passed away in Houston, Texas on December 1, 2021.
