Historical Note

David M. Cohen was visiting faculty in playwriting at the University of Idaho. His play, "Nantucket" was produced by Idaho Repertory Theatre in 1994. Cohen's scripts and documents, along with "Riversong"s" script by Tom Cooper and Tim Rarick were given to Ariana Burns by former UI Theatre Dept chair Bruce Brockman from Brockman's personal collection. He was killed by a drunk driver in 1997. Michael Johnson was a UI Theatre Arts alum and co-founded the Moscow Actors Theatre. He directed the play "As Is" in 1988 which caused controversy for its story content of homosexuality and AIDS and ultimately made the Ap Wire. After the 2015 Theatre reunion, Michael Johnson dropped off papers with Ariana Burns. He passed away in 2022.
