Historical Note
On July 1, 1898 the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) granted permission to Spokane Presbytery to organize a congregation in Pullman, Washington. (Session Minutes, July 1, 1898-Mar. 3, 1927, Folio 1/11).
The Rev. W. G. M. Hays, D. D. was the stated supply for the first year. He was installed as pastor on April 8, 1904 and served until November 30, 1915. (See folio 1/6 for a list of pastors).
A new church building was completed and occupied on April 16, 1899 on a lot costing $175. The building itself including its furnishings was $4000.
A young people's society of Christian Endeavor was organized at the home of the pastor in October of 1898.
For 64 years the congregation occupied Greystone Church on College Hill. (Spokesman Review.com, March 27, 2004) In 1958 a planning committee was formed to build a sanctuary on a new site,1630 NE Stadium Way. The congregation abandoned the Greystone church The last service ever held in that church was on Easter Sunday, 1977.
