Biographical Note
Margaret (Peggy) Woodland Hutchison was born on July 1, 1925 in Warm Beach, WA. When she was in fifth grade, her family moved to Seattle where she graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1942. She then attended the University of Washington from 1942 to 1945 before graduating with a degree in education and economics in 1959. Following her graduation, Hutchison taught third grade and special education in the Lake Washington School District for thirty years. She was named the Lake Washington District Teacher of the Year in 1968.
