Biographical Note

Keith A. Murray was a professor of History at Western Washington State College (now Western Washington University) in Bellingham, Washington from 1946 until 1977. Much of Murray's research and published writing focused on the history of the Pacific Northwest region. Howard Droker was a Seattle historian and author who also wrote about area history, including works on fishing and fishermen. Although documentation for this collection does not record the exact nature of Droker and Murray's connection to legal case "United States vs. Washington", both individuals appear on the witness list included in the court documentation in Box 3.
