Historical Note
The McPherson Ranch, also known as Florence Creek Ranch or Cradle M Ranch, was located on Florence Creek in Desolation Canyon, on the Green River. Jim McPherson began ranching on Florence Creek around 1890. The land was sold to the Ute Tribe in the 1940s, and is presently part of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation in southern Uintah County.
