Historical Note
Lesley Day Woodruff Riter (1887-1981) was a resident of Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born in Wyoming. She was the niece of John Dwight Woodruff who came to Wyoming as a pioneer in the early 1860s.
John Dwight Woodruff (1847-1925) was an early Wyoming pioneer and one of the founders of the city of Lander. As a prominent rancher and businessman, Woodruff served as a senator in the first state legislature and several terms as a representative in the House.
Content Description
Collection contains a handmade replica of a Wells Fargo stagecoach made by Dwight John Woodruff, son of John Dwight Woodruff; a photograph of the John Dwight Woodruff cabin in present-day Big Horn County, Wyoming; a pencil sketch of the Woodruff cabin signed Kirby.
