Biographical Note
Abraham B. Bergman (1932-2023) was a professor of pediatrics at the University of Washington as well as a hospital administrator and legislative lobbyist. He received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1958. In 1964, he joined the University of Washington School of Medicine faculty. In addition to his teaching appointment, he has held various administrative positions at the university and related medical facilites, including director of Pediatrics at Harborview Medical Center. Bergman has also been involved in legislative lobbying efforts on behalf of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act, Flammable Fabrics Act, and the National Health Service Corps, among other initiatives.
