Klondike Days collection, 1898-circa 1950

Alfred Page's first hand account of the 1899 season spent as a ship cook on the Yukon River which details the social life in the towns and camps as they emerged during the Klondike Gold Rush. Includes 20 b/w photographs with typed captions and pencilled notations by Arthur L. Bolton. These illustrations depict early travels on the Yukon river between 1898 and 1905.

Eleven letters between A.L. Bolton and F.W. Morrison, Bolton's partner in the mining venture at Dominion Creek in the Yukon Territory, concerning the financial state of their joint venture. Bolton returned to California in 1905 after seven years of working at Dominion Creek to continue his interest in collecting botanical specimens, while Morrison continued to run the partnership.

Scrapbook with two b/w prints of A.L. Bolton at Lake LaBarge adhered to the cover, in addition to three Japanese characters. The scrapbook contained 56 loose b/w prints and photostats and the pages do not contain captions or any indication of a particular order. Many of these images also appear as illustrations in Bolton's original manuscript, "Them Was The Days?: The Songs of the Chinook and Trails of Yesterday."
