Historical Note

George Marshall Kay (November 10, 1904 – September 4, 1975) was a geologist and professor of geology at Columbia University. Kay worked as an instructor at the University of Wyoming Science Camp in the 1930s with Samuel H. Knight, geologist and professor of geology at the University of Wyoming. The University of Wyoming Science Camp was established in 1925 by Samuel H. Knight to study geology in the summer months. It was located in the Medicine Bow Mountains west of Laramie, Wyoming and attracted geologists and students of geology from all parts of the country every summer.
