Summary
The office of Student Affairs dealt with the social, cultural, and recreational needs of students including the administration of dormitories and financial aid. Prior to 1973, the office was known as Dean of Students. In 1978 the current name of Student Affairs and Services was adopted. During the period covered by these records, Virginia P. Frobes (1965-1970) and Michael J. Patton (1970-1971) served as Dean of Students. Franklin L. McKean (1973-1974) and L. Jackson Newell (1974-1978) served as Dean of Student Affairs. This collection contains correspondence, memoranda, and reports. Principal subjects covered are student organizations, student housing, counseling, scholastic standards, and social life. Also included are meeting minutes of the Committee on Student Affairs (1970-1974).
