Historical Note

Terry R. Armstrong, a longtime Moscow resident. Terry Raymond Armstrong was born in 1935 and graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1954. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi on a basketball scholarship, graduating in 1958, and subsequently earned a master's degree and a doctorate from the University of Idaho.

He began teaching in 1958 at Salmon, Idaho, followed by assignments in Boise, Idaho, and Vallivue High School. He began his doctoral work in 1967 when he began his 40-year career at the University of Idaho, primarily in the College of Education. Terry also served as executive assistant to President Richard Gibb for 12 years. Terry has long enjoyed practicing art of all varieties. His works are displayed around Moscow and the University of Idaho.

Terry is a member of Beta Beta Beta, Phi Sigma, Sigma Xi and Phi Delta Kappa. He has served on numerous boards, including 10 years on the Gritman Medical Center board of directors. He always felt fortunate to have such dedicated scholars and so many faithful, competent hospital colleagues and administrators.
