Pettit was active in organizations and schools for the deaf during the early part of twentieth century. His photographs are primarily group portraits of various organizations, some associated with the deaf, but many unidentified.

Groups, oversize
  • 1. Groups of people in front of the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind. The writing in the margin indicates that the left group is deaf and the right group is blind, late 1890s
  • 2. Mr and Mrs Willard Barlow organized a church for the deaf in Bountiful, Utah. Pettits came from Salt Lake to Bountiful on streetcar, 1920s.
  • 3. Football players, possibly from the Utah School for the Deaf (see "USD" on shirt), team of 1900. Ole is on the front row, right corner (dark sweater), Next on right is Elgin Jacobson (from Bountiful), Leo Hawkins is in the striped shirt. Hawkins and Jacobson were carpenters in Bountiful.
  • 4. Utah Association for the Deaf. The 3 boys in the middle window are signing "UAD." Mr. and Mrs. Ole Pettit are 5th and 6th from right on the second row from the top, circa 1910s
