Clyde A. Milner II papers, 1972-2002

Clyde A. Milner II received his graduate degrees from Yale University, earning his doctorate in American studies in 1979. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina. Dr. Milner joined the history department faculty at USU in 1976, earning tenure and being promoted through the ranks to professor in 1988. Concurrently, Dr. Milner served as associate editor, co-editor, editor, and executive editor, respectively, of the Western Historical Quarterly. In 1997, he was selected as director of USU’s Mountain West Center for Regional Studies and director of the American Studies Program. In 2002, Dr. Milner, along with his wife, co-author and history department colleague Carol O’Connor, relocated to Jonesboro, Arkansas, where Milner has directed the graduate program in Heritage Studies at Arkansas State University.
