Historical Note
The Alpine Club, a student rock-climbing organization at Washington State University, had its first organization meeting on Jan. 10, 1968, and remained in existence at least until 2010. According to the issues in this collection, the club’s newsletter, Exposure, was published twice a year; the Spring 1975 issue is volume 7, issue 2, implying the first issue should have been Fall of 1968. How long the journal ran is unknown.
Content Description
The collections consists of four issues of Exposure, the newsletter of the Washington State University Alpine Club, a student rock climbing organization. Generally the newsletters document climbing trips and share climbing guides. Some poetry and climbing tips are occasionally included as well. The issues date from 1971 to 1975. The collection also includes a 1973 Granite Point climbing guide published by the group, and a 2021 six page reminiscence by the donor.

Arrangement
Granite Point: A Climber’s Guide is at the front of the collection due to its smaller size. It is followed by the four issues of Exposure in chronological order: Summer 1971, Fall 1973, Spring 1974, and Spring 1975. Last is the six page hand-written reminiscence by Ken Fielder.
