Biographical NoteReturn to Top

The images appear to originate with Lottie E. Jellum (1882-1955). Lottie's immediate family consisted of parents Elluf and Mary, brothers Herbert Jellum (d. 1898), Oliver George Jellum (1880-1941), and Stenton Peter Jellum (1889-1909), and sisters Bertha 'Bertie' Georginne Jellum (1875-1949), Ella Marie Jellum (Joiner) (1877-1948), and Lillian Winifred Jellum (Rawlings) (1892-1971). Several siblings are represented in the postcards; Oliver, Stenton, and Lottie all attended WSC. She had a long career as a school teacher. We can track her at Wenatchee HS, Aberdeen HS, Missoula HS, and Lewis and Clark (Spokane) HS, before settling down at Robert Gray junior high school in Tacoma for the latter half of her career.

Content DescriptionReturn to Top

Twenty two postcard prints of the State College of Washington campus student life from 1908-1911. Many postcards were mailed, most to the Jellum family of Ellensburg, WA, or of Couer d'Alene, ID. Most appear to be from (or to) Lottie Jellum, who graduated WSC in 1909. Several images are of Alpha Theta Sigma, of which Lottie was a member. One is from Orilla Miner, a WSC instructor in photography.
