The contents of the J.H. Jacobson Report on Idaho Agriculture span the years 1922-1926. Data in the report was compiled at the request of the War Finance Corporation (U.S.) to be used in establishing zones and loan values for such zones for the Idaho Agricultural Loan Company, Inc., of Pocatello; compiled by J.H. Jacobson, agricultural statistician for the state of Idaho, U.S. Bureau of Crop Estimates, cooperating with the Idaho Department of Immigration, Labor, and Statistics, and University of Idaho Extension Division. Included are maps and carbon typescripts of reports by Jacobson and county agents.

J. (Julius) H. Jacobson worked as an agricultural statistician for the state of Idaho, U.S. Bureau of Crop Estimates. Jacobson was born in 1881 in Minnesota and died 21 February 1958 in McKenzie, North Dakota.
The War Finance Corporation (U.S.) was established by Congressional Act on April 5, 1918 to give financial support to essential industries during WWI and the following interwar period. Essential industries supported by the corporation included government-controlled railroads, U.S. exporters, war agencies, and the banks that aided them. The corporation also provided agricultural loans to financial institutions and created corresponding agricultural loan agencies. In accordance with the Reorganization Plan No. II of 1939, the corporation was abolished on December 31, 1939.
