Historical Note
Jackson Lassiter was a published author of fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry. He was born and raised in Basin, Wyoming as the sixth son of seven boys. Lassiter discovered later in life that he was a guy man who grew up in the rural American West. Lassiter left Wyoming in 1976 and began writing stories based on his own life experiences. He made Washington D.C. his home and was the 2009 recipient of the Larry Neal Writing Award sponsored by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, the PEN/Faulkner Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Lassiter’s fiction, nonfiction, and poetry has appeared in over sixty anthologies and journals.
