This collection includes the papers of Whitworth College's 17th President, William P. (Bill) Robinson. This collection consists of official and miscellaneous records from the President's Office . Also included are miscellaneous materials from the following committees and organizations of which President Robinson was involved: Joint Committee for Higher Education, SIRTI, Washington Friends for Higher Education, Higher Education Coordinating Board, Independent Colleges of Washington, Council of Independent Colleges,and the Spokane Symphony.

Historical Note

William P. (Bill) Robinson assumed his duties as the 17th president of Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington, in July 1993. He came to Whitworth from Manchester College, in Indiana, where he served as president from 1986-1993. Whitworth College grew substantially under his leadership both academically and fiscally. The campus added numerous new buildings, remodeled existing ones, improved the outdoor spaces, athletic facilities and more. Whitworth also developed a national reputation for quality education during his tenure. Whitworth became a university in 2007. Pres. Robinson retired from Whitworth in 2010.
