Content Description
The Sunset School District, in Whitman County, Washington, was established in 1891 and consolidated with the St. John School District in 1943. This collection consists of a history of Sunset School District number 126 from 1891 to 1943, compiled in 1976 by Mrs. Burdett Prince.

Acquisition Information
Mr. and Mrs. Burdett Prince donated this item to the Washington State University Libraries in 1976. It was originally processed as a vertical file (VF 2859), then converted to a manuscript collection in 2011.
In 2026, Suzanne Hanson donated Prince family materials which included a second copy of this, with better quality images and some of the missing names added in (the copy received in 1976 is obviously a photocopy of the one received in 2026). After comparing the two, MASC retained the copy donated in 2026 here (with four pages missing from the 2026 donation moved over into it), and the other copy will be offered to the Whitman County Historical Society.
