Biographical Note
Toyo Studio was a photography studio in Seattle under various proprietors from approximately 1915-1925. K. Kiyota is listed a the proprietor in the 1925 city directory.
Content Description
Six photographs depicting Japanese students, all women, at the Tanaka School of Dressmaking in Seattle. Includes images of students at sewing machines, designing patterns, and seated holding scrolls, perhaps diplomas. One woman featured in the photographs appears to be Mrs. Tanaka, presumably the school's owner. All of the photographs are captioned "By Toyo. Apr 12, 1925."
