Tim Woodward Papers, 1983-1989

This collection contains correspondence, interviews, clippings, photos, complete typescript, and other research materials, written or compiled by Woodward during his research for and writing of Tiger on the Road: The Life of Vardis Fisher. The Research Materials series consists primarily of photocopies of articles (academic journals and newspapers). There is also a copy of the letter that Vardis Fisher's sister, Irene Mead, sent to Leonard Harrington about her brother's religious beliefs; a copy of the paper that Harrington and co-author Jon Haupt delivered arguing Vardis Fisher was a life-long Mormon; and an open letter that Fisher's wife, Opal Laurel Holmes, wrote to the president of the LDS noting that her husband never was a Mormon.
