Biographical Note

Ada Eliza England Morrell was born April 9, 1887 in Hyde Park Utah to Charles England and Phebe Almira Woolf England. Ada was a graduate of the Brigham Young College, a member of the Eliza R. Snow Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and was active in the leadership of her local LDS ward and stake. On May 26, 1909 Ada married Joseph P Morrell in Logan Utah, and would spend the majority of their lives together in Cache County Utah. Ada and Joseph lived through the deaths of three of their children, Thelma Ada, Evelyn, and Reid England Morrell all passed away between 1912 and 1928. Joseph Morrell passed away on August 23, 1973, four years later Ada passed away on December 5, 1977. Ada was survived by Adrian H. Morrell, Wendell G. Morrell, Helen Shelton, and Josephine Wadsworth.

Content Description

This collection consists of nine scrapbooks compiled by Ada Morrell which contain the family histories of several prominent families (Woolf, England, Seamons, Hambleton, and Morrell) of Hyde Park and Logan, Utah. Included are pedigree charts, family histories, individual and family photographs, LDS patriarchal blessings, court documents, educational records, and newspaper articles. Materials in the collection range in time from the settlement period of Cache Valley in the 1850s to modern times.

Administrative Information

Arrangement

The Ada Morrell Family Scrapbook Collection consists of nine boxes. Each box contains several folders and every folder holds multiple pages from Ada Morrell's scrapbook.

The scrapbooks are inventoried by two categories: Images and Non-images. All photographs are individually numbered and contain a unique ID such as 02:01:01.

Every item in the collection has been placed into a box and a folder; a listing of the contents of each box and folder is given below.
