Historical Note
Harold Orlob (1883-1982) was born in Logan Utah, and went on to become a well-received music writer for early Broadway shows in New York. He always maintained close ties with Utah, and still has family here.
Content Description
The Harold Orlob papers contain correspondence, contracts, and printed material relating to his career as a song writer. It also contains original music manuscripts from several of his hit Broadway musicals.

Much of the correspondence in this folder concerns Harold Orlob's decision, in 1947 to take songwriter Joe Howard to court over Howard's taking credit for writing the song . He won the right to have his name listed as co-author.
