Content Description
Small collection of 12 black and white copy prints of photographs of and taken by Fanny B. Wright Van Duyn (also sometimes spelled Fannie) of Tygh Valley, Oregon. One photograph is of Van Duyn, and another shows the store of her husband, Charles Van Duyn, as well as the Van Duyns' house. The bulk of the photographs are portraits by Fanny Van Duyn of Native people on the Warm Springs Reservation. Some of the people depicted are identified in handwritten notes on the backs of the prints. Identifications include Sin-e-noot (also identified on the prints as Smas-noot, Sina-e-noot, and Boise); Wash-us-etan-way; Klem-et-ose; Tat-toon-my; Emma Gueapama; and Syad.
