Biographical Note

(1947-) Seattle ceramicist, painter, and poet known for Disasterware, a line of ceramics that merges traditional Dutch Delft techniques with non-traditional subjects. Krafft also works with Spone© Funerary Ware to create commemorative plates that are fired with cremains (human cremation remnants).

Content Description

Commemorative plate and copy of poem printed on the back of an envelope. The plate, part of Krafft's Disasterware collection, is entitled "Mission to Slovenia Commemorative Plate No. 1." It is ceramic transfer on china, created in 1995 to raise funds to send Krafft to Slovenia, and is included in the book,Charles Krafft's Villa Deliriumby Mike McGee and Larry Reid. The poem is entitled "Last Year in Lipica."
