Biographical Note

Maurice Warshaw (1898-1979) was originally born in Ukraine under the name Samuel Warshawsky. Upon arrival to America, Warshaw was renamed "Maurice" after it's resemblance to the nickname "Mieche." Warshaw is best known for his success in Salt Lake City, Utah where he flourished as a businessman and humanitarian. He was the founder of Grand Central Inc. A bust of Warsaw created by Avard Fairbanks holds a place at the Utah State Capitol.
