Tourtellotte & Hummel was an early 20th century architectural firm headed by John E. Tourtellotte (1869-1939) and Charles F. Hummel (1857-1939). The firm had offices in both Portland, Oregon, and Boise, Idaho. In the mid-1930s, John E. Tourtellotte established the firm Tourtellotte and Phillips with Truman E. Phillips (1902-1989).

The collection consists of illustrations depicting buildings designed by the architectural firm Tourtellotte & Hummel, as well as the later firm Tourtellotte & Phillips. This includes four illustrations of a proposed office building between SW 4th Avenue, SW 5th Avenue, SW Madison Avenue, and SW Main Avenue in Portland, Oregon, for city, county, and state offices, delineated by Truman E. Phillips; an undated illustration of the campus of Willamette University in Salem, Oregon; and an illustration of Truman & Phillips' proposal for a new Oregon State Capitol in Salem to replace the one that had burned down in 1935.
