Biographical Note

Edward Everett Harpham was part of the University of Washington class of 1914 in the College of Forestry. Harpham, a veteran of World War I, was aboard the troop carrier S.S. Tuscania when it was torpedoed in 1918 by the German U-Boat UB-77 while transporting American troops to Europe. Though over 200 perished in this incident, Harpham survived and continued his work in the U.S. Army. Immediately following the war, he attended a business program at the University in Toulouse.
