Scope and Content: Correspondence and subject files; conference and convention records; records of legislative activity; organizational records such as constitutions, bylaws and membership information; school employee salary, benefit and job vacancy records; publications of the organization, and meeting minutes. Included are records created by closely related or subsidiary organizations, including the WEA’s Department of Administration and Supervision, the Washington State Association of Secondary School Principals, the Washington State Elementary School Principals’ Association, the Washington State Junior High School Principals’ Association, and the Washington State School Superintendents’ Association.

Scope and Content: Meeting minutes, membership records, correspondence, conference and convention records, records of the work of organization committees, and subject files. Includes unofficial transcripts of community hearings of the Washington State Legislature’s Interim Committee on Education (1967-1968), which examined school finance, management, and educational issues confronting public schools in the late 1960s. Records include those of subunits of the WEA, including its Department of Administration and Supervision, the Local Unit Services Division, and the Office of Certification and Accreditation. Records of affiliates of the WEA include those of the Washington Association of School Administrators, Washington Elementary School Principals’ Association, Washington Junior High Principals’ Association, Washington Association of Secondary School Principals, and the Association of Classroom Teachers (formerly called the Classroom Teachers Department).
