Jean Durning (1947-) is a musician, author, and ethnomusicologist from France. He has conducted research in Iran and Uzbekistan and published books and articles about the musical and cultural traditions of inner Asia. He has served as Research Director at the French National Center for Scientific Research and as a professor at the University of Strasbourg.
