Summary
The Ethnic Studies Program was established in 1973 on an interdisciplinary/interdepartmental basis with separate programs for Black, Chicano, and Native American Studies. Currently the Ethnic Studies program is located in the office of the Associate Vice President for Diversity and Faculty Development. It offers courses and coordinates ethnic studies courses offered in other academic departments. This collection contains correspondence, grant applications, program proposals, training manuals, and reprints of published articles, mostly concerning the Chicano Studies program. Also included are administrative files of the Ethnic Studies Office and memoranda and reports concerning affirmative action.
