Historical Note
Potosi Placers, a partnership between Henry Day and L.J. Burrows, involved developing some placers in the Potosi and Pony Gulches in the Beaver Mining District near Dixie, Idaho. The partnership lasted only from August-September, 1936, and the records are accordingly slim. Day and Burrows' problems getting money owed them by an E.T. Vincent generated some documentation.
Content Description
The records of the Potosi Placers span the years 1935 to 1941, with the bulk of the material covering the period July - September 1936. Included are correspondence, financial statements, contracts, insurance forms, drillers field logs, and vouchers.
Administrative Information
Arrangement
The records of the Potosi Placers are divided into two series.
General Correspondence and Related Records, the first series, is an alphabetically arranged series containing correspondence, reports, real estate contracts, insurance compensation forms from the State insurance fund, leases, drillers field logs, photographs, and financial statements.
The only items in the second series, Financial Records, are vouchers.
