Biographical Note

Norma Reynolds Dalby Freestone was born in 1923. She studied music and dance at Brigham Young University (BYU) and then she taught music at Roland Hall School for Girls and Stevens College in Missouri. She then moved to New York where she taught at Cornell Univeristy and Sarah Lawrence College where she retired in May 1989. Norma was an accomplished musician in areas of technique and composition as well as music director and performer. She also developed music courses for several dance workshops for students of all ages and for films, television, and theatre. Her specialty was piano and percussion. She worked with the Virginia Tanner School of Dance, Ririe Woodbury Dance Co., Repertory Dance Theatre, Children's Dance Theatre, University of Utah School of Dance, and the Royal Academy of Dance, London, England, plus many others. Freestone died in Utah on the 4th of May, 2006.
