Content DescriptionReturn to Top
Collection includes correspondence, transcripts of court hearings, speeches and radio addresses, political notes, campaign materials and scrapbooks relating to political matters. The papers chiefly cover the 1928-1930 period during which George W. Joseph fought the local proposed electric power company merger, opposed Judge John L. Rand's candidacy for Oregon Supreme Court justice, had lawyer Thomas Mannix disbarred, and was himself disbarred. Correspondence mainly relates to his candidacy for Oregon governor. Materials also include some correspondence of George W. Joseph, Jr. regarding Julius L. Meier's candidacy after his father's death.
