Historical NoteReturn to Top
Northwest Association for Independent Living (NAIL) was a grassroots organization formed in June 1983 that focused on the needs of the mentally ill. Shalom House, its residential program, was established in 1986. In 1987, NAIL merged with the Foundation for Jewish Developmentally Disabled Citizens to form the Seattle Association for Jewish Disabled. SAJD was incorporated at the end of 1987 and is a program of the Jewish Family and Child Services.
