Arrangement
The arrangement is adapted from the filing system in place when the papers were received by the libraries. This system was informal. The papers were maintained as five alphabetical series of subject folders and 80 numbered computer diskettes. These divisions were not named or labeled individually. The first series consists of subject files concerning research on wine production, especially at Prosser. The second series is centered on academic work at the university and Nagel's publications on wine. The third series consists of records of project proposals and the fourth of wine taste panels' data. The fifth series concerns with test and experiment data on Cold Creek fertilizer trial project and various wine analysis. The computer diskettes in series six contain data on wine research, wine inventory and wine taste panels. For further records of the research projects at Prosser, users may consult Archives 214, Irrigated Agriculture and Experiment Center (Prosser), Grapes / Wine Research Records, 1940 -1984.
Acquisition Information
The papers of Charles Nagel, specifically those concerning the grape and wine industry, were donated to the Washington State University Libraries in 1993 by Dr. Nagel (MS 1993-39).
