Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Bade Ghulam Ali Khan (1902-1968) was a Hindustani classical vocalist from Punjab, present day Pakistan. He began studying music from his paternal uncle Kale Khan at the age of five and later studied under his father. He preferred to sing light-hearted ragas and composed many new ones under the pen name Sabrang. He was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and the Padma Bhushan Award in 1962.
