Biographical Note
Barbara J. Sibley (1932-) was a Washington State University graduate with an M.S. in Psychology, the wife of former WSU faculty member Will Sibley, and a ten-year resident of Pullman.
Content Description
The items in this collection consist of newspaper clippings, special publications, and other documents pertaining to student activism on the Washington State University campus, circa 1970. The printed articles in this collection come from various newspapers, including the Pullman Herald and the Daily Evergreen, as well as other periodicals, and include descriptions and images pertaining to student activism, circa 1970, especially on the Washington State University campus. Other printed materials in the collection include publications of the Racism Workshop Committee, as well as flyers and public notices by various student and faculty groups, such as the Strike Steering Committee, Black Student Union (BSU) and Chicano Student Movement (MECHA). Many of the articles and documents highlight specific incidents and correspondences related to the 1970 student strikes and racism on and around the campus of Washington State University.
