Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Gail Cunningham Rawcliffe, daughter of Arther Dwaine Cunningham and Ramona Noll Cunningham, graduated from Clover Park High School in Lakewood, Washington and entered Whitman College in 1956. While at Whitman, she was a member of the freshman Arrows, the sophomore Spurs, and was freshman council on Junior Panhellenic as a representative of the Whitman chapter of Alpha Phi sorority. After her graduation from Whitman in 1959, she earned her masters degree in recreation from Indiana University and moved to Rochester, New York, where she served as the public relations director for the Bureau of Recreation. She married James F. Rawcliffe in Rochester in 1964, and the couple had two daughters in 1966 and 1969.

The Gail Cuningham Rawcliffe scrapbook and photographs contains the personal photographs and scrapbooks of Gail Cunningham Rawcliffe, Whitman College class of 1959. This collection, which dates from 1956 to 1960, consists of photographs and scrapbooks containing memorabilia from various campus social groups, primarily the Beta Phi chapter of Alpha Phi sorority.
