Harold A. Richardson (circa 1913-1976) was born in Pullman, Washington where he attended the State College of Washington and graduated in 1935 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech. Richardson was later assigned to General Staff Corps in 1941 and became active in motion pictures.

This collection consists of World War II diary entries written by Harold A. Richardson between December 7, 1941 and August 8, 1945. It is comprised of 74 pages of loose-leaf entries, a nine page typescript titled "Oahu to Tarawa," and one leather-bound diary with 41 leaves of manuscript text.
