Biographical Note

Born 1885, Germany, came to U.S. in 1903. Taught at UW, 1915-28, Electrical Engineering and 1928-51, Aeronautical Engineering. Inventions include cycloidal propeller for airplanes and marine vessels, and Kirsten pipe, 1936.
